I have had indeed a very different Valentine Day this year. I have to spend my last year, last semester, last day in school and it happens to be Valentine Day. I spent time with the school’s computer and friends who played an important role throughout the past three years. I thought I could finish what’s tasked within two hours but due to the tedious work, my friend and I have to leave school at 3pm.
I rushed home because I promised to meet AiHui and Sebas at 5.30pm at Bishan MRT as we will be selling flowers. I was excited because I know why I took up this challenge when God granted me such an open door. (Ask me if you want to know) When we took over the flowers from XiuYing, both AiHui and I were very discouraged due to the spot we had decided on; it was pretty bad. We have no one who came to us and also not one soul who purchase a stalk. Thank God for Ben Loo who buy from me and be my number one customer for the day. We sold 2 flowers in Bishan and after deciding, giving Sebas a ring for his advices; we head down to City Hall to carry on our selling.
We were discouraged. We didn’t know how to start selling. AiHui was pretty anxious about her A-Maths paper tomorrow too, so I was a little worried for her. We were distracted; hoping that we can sell it as fast as we can so she can go home and study. Well, our focuses were swapped to the worries instead of selling flowers. We walked and walked until we were tired, we stood still in a place and miraculously, people came to buy flowers from us. We thank God for everyone that purchased from us and at about 8.30pm, we saw the crowds decreasing. So we start to look around and to our surprise, we stood in front of a Church. AiHui since then has been telling me that this place is a good place and a good spot because we are before a church, and if we fall, we can lean back, God is there for us! Faith is really confident. I thank God for AiHui for giving me that chance to trust God for something more than these. We enjoyed and encouraged each other along the way. When we are discouraged, the Holy Spirit was there for us. AiHui, thank you for making the time spent with you so lovely and sweet.
I gain a lot from this experience too. STREET E is on its way again. God, open the way and the time is now for me to proclaim Your goodness once again.
After selling flowers, my friends and I went Timbre to pamper ourselves with a drink. Daryl and Jerome, thanks for the stalk of rose. We walked to the place and got good seats to sit down, and enjoyed the band. The loves songs made me ponder about past but also allow me to understand reality. By the way, Volka and Red Bull is a good drink! After awesome time spent together in each other’s presence, we decided to head home by cab!
I thank God for today, everything that’s made sweet and nice today. I realized Valentine Day is not about couples but about friends too. I had so much fun today even when I was almost pissed off by someone who tried to get into my nerves by his temper! Well, everything is so great today! Thanks everyone.
